And I totally agree. Found it just in time when I need something to boost my feelings.

Enjoy it!

Expectations

It is funny how human beings get into an expectation. Or shall I say demanding for something. What is an expectation? Hoping your significant other will take out the trash, thinking your best friend will be there when you need to talk, waiting your mom and dad to be loving and careless of what you are, wishing the company you are interviewing with will hire you?

The worst part is the waiting to see the realization of that. Sometimes it happens in that instant, sometimes you have to hopelessly wait for it. But I think, if you believe enough and you think you have done everything to see your expectation happen, it will inevitably happen.

Isn't it good that I still can be positive on the darkest day it could be :)

Colorful Friday

I am nervous, excited, eager, etc... I am waiting a call or an email. I can't feel anything else, I can't think anything else. But I imagine a positive, cheerful picture in my mind. Colorful and fun...

This is how my Friday has started and still is. But today is Happy Friday, so I am sure I'll get the happiness in the rest of the day.

Turkish Tile Makes Me Happy

How did I end up writing about Turkish tiles whilst there are so many things to write. Because, today the weather is a day left from the winter and its all gray. Even my furnitures and walls look gray except three little piece of decorations which are Turkish pottery clays. Well, obviously I bought them from Grand Bazaar in Istanbul thinking that it will bring some color to my home and am proven right. It looks both classy and decorative (and just looks perfect on my coffee table).

The most hand crafted ones out there are İznik pottery and they are highly decorated ceramics. Originally influenced by Chinese porcelains, İznik tiles were far from imitation. They were adapted and Turkish motifs has been unique and subtle.

I was able to create that colorful image inside me lately. I have been very positive and assured that I am walking with solid steps towards my goal. Hoping to announce you soon with what it is, today will just enjoy my Turkish clays :)

Happy Sailor Friday !

Today I went to shop, not for myself. I only went to grocery shopping for my dinner party tomorrow night; but I gave myself some visual shopping tour. The best side of the spring is you can see it in the shops, all the floral designs and sweet pastel colors. However, there is one thing common to every shop you can't miss: Nautical fashion with white and navy stripes and anchor symbols.

One side of it, at least to me, is that summer knocks on our doors with this fashion. Sailor & navy = sea & sun (that also equals to summer:). So I wanted you to enjoy it as I did today. And maybe it could be a sunny weekend (at least somewhere around the world) and you can put on your stripes and be chic and fashionable.

Old Frames

Do you still keep you old teddy bear, or a very old story book? I realized that a time comes when you think you are older now and need more fashionable and new stuff; and then later on a time comes that you realize nothing can replace your old stuff.

Yellow & Lemon

Something has gone into me. I am always into baking and cooking but wouldn't done it twice in a week. But I had a reason, I guess... Anyway, I baked these Lemon Bars on Saturday for a brunch at friends house. I've got the recipe from Joy of Baking, which has incredible recipes which I wish to bake them all. The flavour was so nice, the sourness of lemon actually leaves a sweetness behind.

I have projects to come up with very soon and definetely will let you know as soon as I have all the equipment. So a sweet start to the week. Have a lucky week ;)

Happy Friday

You know that I always look forward to something if you have been following my blog. I feel like small things can make a whole lot difference to people's lives and its always good to wait for something nice or exciting to happen. Since we are over with Alice in Wonderland, we are off to the next on the list which is Project Natal for Xbox 360. If you haven't heard it is a system that requires no controller; because YOU are the controller. It is an amazing technology provided by a camera based system. The platform you play becomes your living room and you literally can live in the game. So lets end this week waiting for the end of Q3 of 2010. Don't worry, I'll probably come with things to wait in between.

I had a really nice day today with a close friend and now still having good time with Mr on the other end of the couch. But see, I did not forget about wishing you all Happy Friday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lets start the day with some vampire love :)

Little Things I Do

I finally baked my own cookies. Having been inspired so much from Mutlu Dukkan, I bought couple of cookie cutters,  regal ice and had fun all afternoon. I took the nine of them to my friend who is having a baby in 10 days (same friend I went to baby shower of). Of course the theme was baby girl. Do you think I nailed it?

And the Oscar goes to

As you remember I mentioned on last Friday about Alice in Wonderland being on cinemas. The next day I went to see it. It was just fabulous! I think I can watch it a million more time and been watching the trailers over and over again. I really don't fancy Johny Depp; but won't let you say a word for his acting.

Sunday was a sunny yet a cold day.  But we walked around 5 km and then I attended to a baby shower of a friend. We all gathered and prepared a nice baby basket with everything she may need. Its a girl, so as you guessed right everything we bought was pink:)

Before, I have showed you my pre-engagement cake which will be made by my cousin. Then I found this super cute shop called Mutlu Dukkan and couldn't hold myself and went on ordering 40 cookies :) I'll share couple of my favorites here which in fact are part of my order. This sweet cookies are made by Zeynep who is more sweet than her cookies. She is so friendly and her creations are just amazing.

And of course, there were Oscars. I actually sat till 5:30 in the morning and watched the whole thing. I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed my how little Avatar got. Hurt Locker was a really good movie, the theme was really affective. I think even in that movie some credit to go for James Cameron since Kathryn Bigelow is his ex-wife. I was happy for Sandra Bullock, although didn't give her much chance among Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren. So much for the criticism... I shouldn't forget about the red carpet. My favorite dress was Sarah Jessica Parker's Chanel Haute Couture. It was really elegant and was showing itself off.

Tomorrow I'll be doing some baking myself; and hoping to share the photos with you. There; it was all you have missed :)

If Websites were People

Although there are so much to write about the last weekend, I decided to start my 'blogging week' nice and short.

So, found this illustration and thought it is hilarious. So you look like any of these? I suppose if you are addicted to Facebook or living in Google, you would become to look like this :)

Happy Friday !!!

I was thinking for the photo theme of the Happy Friday and I realized how much work I have done this week and how much good news I've got. So I decided it to be about business woman and among million of images these from the Dustjacket Attic has attracted me the most. It reflects the inner shine of the woman to the clothes and isn't it always a plus be presentable and flattering.

Anyway. The visa application is done, rosy news came from a company I really really want a lot, and one other company said they are interested in me. Career wise it was a hopeful week.

Shoe shopping and a baby shower is expecting me for the weekend; but lets not forget to mention the importance of today: Alice is here and we all can be in the wonderland!
